Angelique Velez is a founder and venture architect. She originates businesses, then builds the teams and partners who bring them to life.
Latina. Boricua. Raised in the Bronx. She began as a model, working with top brands, magazines, and national commercials, which led her to the World Poker Tour. Four seasons on the road there built a network of colleagues-turned-friends that remains one of the most invaluable parts of her life. A connection made at the WPT opened the door to a tech company, where she worked her way up to Lead Director of Influencer Campaign Management at Speakr, ranked #79 on Deloitte's list of the fastest-growing companies in the U.S. There she built relationships with the world's biggest influencers and social celebrities, and with the heads of Fortune 500 companies. She went on to become a partner at a private-equity firm based in Africa, working on development and infrastructure projects across the continent, the work that inspired her to build her own.
Today she builds across hospitality, real estate, story, and technology, with hospitality and land at the center. The Remarkable Villas collection is led by Oshana, a private luxury estate on the Samaná coast built for corporate and influencer retreats, while the TRIBAYA Collection is a regenerative ultra-luxury portfolio whose 85-acre flagship, Taína, is in active development. It is named for the Taíno, the island's first people, and built in reverence to that lineage and the land it rises from. Every piece of furniture across these properties is designed in-house by her own studio, Nimbali Designs. Around them she builds Remarkable Places, a seven-figure boutique luxury travel agency; TRIBAYA, a holistic health app rooted in ancestral practice; and The BeRemarkable Foundation, her 501(c)(3) widening creative access for young people. She moves several ventures at once, each carried by the people closest to the work.
She builds because she remembers being a young girl from the Bronx, full of vision and big dreams but with no blueprint, no door already open. So everything she creates becomes a door she holds open for others: for the place she comes from, for the ones she sees herself in, for the children who need to find themselves in the story, and for the lands that deserve to be honored rather than extracted. She isn't chasing scale for its own sake; she's proving you can build at the highest level without leaving your roots, your people, or your purpose behind. When the work is aligned to lineage, to collaboration, to place, and to meaning, everything else follows.

Angelique has lived all around the world and traveled to over 65 countries exploring different cultures, but now lives on the ocean in Samaná, Dominican Republic. Life on the peninsula has drawn her deeper into her Taíno heritage, and reconnecting with her lineage has shaped much of what she builds and creates. She is on site at the construction projects nearly every day. While she builds fast, leading with momentum and collaboration, her personal life is slow and grounded. Since becoming a private pilot in 2021, her hours off are spent in the sky, or on the land with her pet goats. In all aspects of her life, she acts as the nucleus that connects people, places, and ideas, and marries them with meaning and purpose.
